Hearing Aids
No one should suffer from hearing loss. Hearing aids can help improve your hearing, social life, and overall quality of life.
Hearing Aids
Valley ENT has a certified audiologist and two certified OTO-Techs on staff. They are specifically trained to obtain hearing information for children and adults who exhibit hearing problems. We provide procedures and treatments, including hearing aids.
We use traditional hearing tests or, if the patient is unable to complete it, newer technology. These tests include:
- Audiograms
- Tympanometry
- Otoacoustic emissions
- Threshold auditory brainstem response (ABR) testing

Conductive Hearing Loss
Hearing loss caused by problems in your middle ear, eardrum, or ear canal might be the result of:
- Eustachian tube malfunction
- Fluid in the middle ear
- Infections in the middle ear or ear canal
- Otosclerosis
- Perforated eardrum
- Structural abnormalities in the middle ear, ear canal, or outer ear

Sensorineural Hearing Loss
Sensorineural hearing loss is related to problems in the middle ear, including:
- Abnormality of the inner ear
- Acute or long-term exposure to loud noises
- Age
- Head or neck trauma
- Hereditary
- Meniere’s disease

Mixed Hearing Loss
Mixed hearing loss is due to both conductive and sensorineural issues.
Diagnosis & Treatment
How is hearing loss diagnosed?
Your doctor conducts a physical exam, including looking into your ears and nose to check for signs of inflammation and blockages.
Your doctor will also conduct hearing tests, including:
- Audiometer tests
- Tuning fork tests
- General screenings to gauge your hearing loss
Hearing treatment
Treatment depends on the type of hearing and its cause. The cure could include removing ear wax, treating infection, or fitting a hearing aid.
Hearing Aids
A hearing aid is an electronic device worn in or behind your ear and amplifies sounds so you can hear better. There are many different styles and configurations of hearing aids. Once your ENT physician has performed an examination and determined that your hearing loss will benefit from a hearing aid, an appointment for a Hearing Aid Evaluation will be scheduled with one of our certified Audiologists or Oto-Technicians who have expert training to ensure you are fitted with the best and most appropriate type of hearing aid.
There are three basic types of hearing aids
We offer:
- Behind-The-Ear (BTE)
- Micro Behind-The-Ear (micro BTE)
- In-The-Ear (ITE)
Our hearing aid dispensing uses top digital technology. Our audiologists continually attend conferences to learn about new technology and how to best select and fit hearing aids to patients. Top digital technology and multiple microphone hearing aids are proving themselves to be the best solution.
